How many guests can I seat?
Each pew seats up to eight guests, so our entire collection of 24 pews can seat a total of 192 guests.
How many pews do I need to rent?
Pews are rented in pairs (so you have one on each side of the aisle), and we prefer a minimum rental of six pews. If you need fewer, please send The Pew Depot a message on our Contact page to discuss your needs.
How do the pews get to my venue?
We deliver them for you! We set them up too, so all you have to do is enjoy them (and relax knowing your perfect day is off to a great start). Depending on the location, we may visit the venue to discuss logistics in advance, or we may ask them/you to send us pictures. The day of the wedding, we’ll work with your coordinator to be sure everything is in place.
When do you load the pews back up and leave the event?
When we can do it without causing a distraction. After your ceremony and photos are complete and your guests head into the reception, we’ll begin loading pews.
How far do you travel?
We can travel throughout the northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin area. Not sure if your location is too far? Send The Pew Depot a message through our Contact page to discuss your location. We’ll gladly discuss details with you and try to accommodate your event.
What if it rains or the event is canceled?
We know the weather can be unpredictable, so we’ll work with the situation as best we can. To avoid a passing storm, we may delay setting up the pews a little, or set them up and put a tarp over them until the ceremony.
If the decision is made to bring your event indoors prior to us arriving and you won’t be able to use the pews, we will issue a refund, minus the deposit. If you can still use them indoors, that’s great!
If we have already arrived, but not set up the pews, we’ll issue a refund minus the deposit and delivery and setup costs. Once the pews are set up, we will not be able to offer a refund.
Where did the pews come from?
The pews came from a beautiful church in Racine, WI. The church was built in 1913 and the pews are original (although it’s not clear whether they were installed in 1913 or a few years later). The church merged with another congregation in 2016 and sold the pews to us.
Can I decorate the pews with flowers, bows, etc.?
Absolutely! There are lots of inspirational photos of pews decorated with everything from bows to mason jars, and even pillows and blankets depending on the time of year. All we ask is that tape or adhesive of any kind is not used directly on the pews.
Can I use them for an indoor event?
Of course. As long as the venue is large enough to accommodate them, we’re happy to set them up indoors.
